Read MoreOn Monday, tune in to "The Bachelorette" television show to check out some local LA lindy hoppers throwing down, with Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five playing for them! I suppose you could also watch the rest of the episode, but honestly we don't know much about these reality shows. Does it involve eating live bugs? Not sure.
Anyway, here's a sneak preview.
Dancers in the episode include: Jean Veloz(!!), Rusty Frank, Steve Conrad, Minn Vo, Jonathan Stout, Albert Alva, Danielle Deborah, Nikki Marvin, Shesha Marvin, Mike Mizgalski, Stefanie Klausmann, Kim Clever, Wally Hersom, Hilary Alexander, Jack Chen, Josh Collazo, and Jim Ziegler. Woah.
Frankie Manning (finally!) is honored with a Google Doodle!

I'm loving this solo jazz choreo by Angelique Larque, performed at Savoy Cup 2016 recently in Montpellier, France. Angelique's musicality, variety of movement, tonal changes, body control, and character are outstanding. And she perfectly embodies the song with her dance.
With Frankie Manning’s birthday coming up, some of us in San Francisco thought it would be helpful if we all had a list of “iconic” Frankie Manning steps, for use in teaching about Frankie and choreographing performances in his honor. Surprisingly, such a list does not seem to exist.

From the article:
What are your favourite places in Paris?
Apart from Trocadero, my favourite place is the Palais de Tokyo. In summer, the swing dance community organises free outdoor parties with bands here where you can dance with la Seine and Eiffel Tour right in front of you, ‘til the sun goes down. Amazing. My favourite swing clubs are Le Caveau de La Huchette and La Bellevilloise.
Nicely done, Joyss. Looking very dapper, sir!
I have no idea who Daniil Nikulin is, but I'm already a huge fan. In this video Daniil performs some ridiculously creative, eccentric and breathtaking solo jazz at the Jazz Roots festival in Paris last weekend.
Apparently he's a dancer living in Moscow. I can't even wrap my brain around all the different kinds of styling he's throwing into his piece. I swear I see some kung fu in there. Every time I watch it, I see something new that delights me.
He's got me thinking about moves I already know in new ways. Damn, I love this dance so much.
Check out this lovely article and short video in the New York Times on Caleb and Katherine, two dancers who met and fell in love at Yehoodi's Frim Fram Jam. Such a sweet story.
