Swing Music Sales Supporting Racial Justice this Week
/We got word from swing band leader Glenn Crytzer that several bands have stepped up to lend their support to the Black community. This week all their profits from music sales from these artists on Bandcamp will go to different charities they have selected. So pick your favorite band / charity and purchase away!
Glenn Crytzer (Brooklyn Bail Fund)
Mint Julep Jazz Band (SPLC)
The Messy Cookers:(Assata's Daughters)
Rob Reich: (National Split Donation to Bailfunds via Actblue)
Tatiana Eva-Marie: (NBCDI)
Brooks Prumo: (NAACP San Antonio)
Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five (The Bail Project)
Posey Royale (BLM) [album releases Friday]
Jen Hodge: (BLM Global Network)
Charlie Holloran (Innocence Project NOLA)
Bonnie Northgraves: (The Bail Project)
Greg Ruby (Brooklyn Bail Fund)
Dennis Lichtman (NAACP Legal Defense Fund)
Thanks, Glenn for putting this together, and for all these musicians supporting worthwhile causes, in a time when I am sure they are not particularly flush themselves. This is how we win.
As an aside, on June 19 (aka Juneteenth) Bandcamp will be donating 100% of their profits from music sales to the NAACP. So there’s another opportunity to support racial justice (and purchase some sweet music).
