I haven't been able to find stuff using the new search. The old one at least had different fields that you could whittle down your choices by author or exact phrase. I know this one is "new and improved" so I must be doing something wrong but so far it's easier using Google (define site:yehoodi.com ____).
Eg: Was looking for the thread about people dancing the swing.. I remembered the title had "the swing" in it, so I put it in quotations. Nothing on the first few pages and every thread with swing (not the phrase 'the swing') came up. Tried [dance "the swing"] and [dancing "the swing"] which didn't do much better. On top of that there's not much order in the results (and each thread takes up so much space it's hard to scan)
Any tips on how to search?
(I'm not complaining - I've only seen positive reviews of the new search so I must be doing something stupid. Not the first time...probably won't be the last ;) )

For the life of me I can't find the "Dancing With The Stars" thread. If someone could find the magic search keyword and dig it up for me, I would appreciate it.
(And since the Yehoodistrators are obviously sitting around with nothing to do, any thoughts on when the upgrades to the search might happen, like the ability to refine the search parameters, or sort the results?)
(Ok, so I mean the OTHER DWTS thread, the one that was much longer. I just used to be so good at The Search, and now it bugs me that I can't find anything.)
Thanks. This worked the best for me so far. I tried many ways to find specific threads, and couldn't find them. This was the only way I could find what I was looking for.
Any updates on the search function? I'd love the ability to search by date because searches always seem to return results from 2005-2007 first, rather than current information.
That's too bad. The biggest things that was much much better on the old site was a search that could actually find what you were looking for.
Maybe in the mean time you could post on the search page how to do a Google search as Capt Morgan suggested? That way I would not have to dig up this thread to remember how to do it (and digging up a specific thread is not so easy these days.) It's not as good as the old yehoodi search, but it does work way better than what the search page can do now.
