"Les Origines du Lindy Hop": French Video Traces the Black Roots of Lindy Hop

We dig this video by Guillaume Frelin of the dance school Jazzy Feet in France on the origins of lindy hop. Guillaume writes:

“I've taken advantage of quarantine to achieve a project I had been willing to carry out for a long time. This project was initially a online class for our students during the lockdown, but finally, as I'm satisfied with the result, I and my school decided to share it more widely.”

While my French is pretty rusty, I think these folks did their homework in creating this 18-minute video on the history of lindy hop, with an emphasis on it’s Black roots and pioneers. Much of it is drawn from Yehoodi’s own lindy hop history page, as well as a bunch of other smart folks. Check it out!

And in case you’ve never seen Yehoodi’s own video we produced many years ago, here’s “What is Lindy Hop.”
