There will be a memorial celebration of the life of Norma Miller, the Queen of Swing, on Friday May 24 in New York City. The event will include a public viewing, a sharing of remembrances, a panel, and of course dancing to live music in Harlem. Sounds like a beautiful way to commemorate the life of Miss Miller!

See below for full details and on the Facebook event page.

For those that can’t make that date, the International Lindy Hop Championships will commemorate “Norma100” on what would have been her 100th birthday on December 2, 2019 in Washington DC. The commemoration will include a panel discussion with some of the Norma Miller Dancers, a “Normalizer” dance contest, and a Battle of the Bands, recreating the history Chick Webb vs Benny Goodman battle at the Savoy Ballroom.

We’ll share other commemorations and celebrations of Norma as they become available.
